
Racing Club de Lens
Racing Club de Lens was founded in 1906, a traditional team in the Calais region of northern France. It was first promoted to Ligue 1 in 1937, won its only Ligue 1 title in the 1997-98 season, and reached the semi-finals of the UEFA Cup Winners' Cup in 2001.
The club has been promoted and relegated between Ligue 1 and Ligue 2 many times, and returned to the UEFA Champions League as the runner-up of Ligue 1 in the 2022-23 season. Its home ground is Stade Bollaert-Delelis, known for its passionate fan atmosphere and tenacious playing style, making it a highly representative "people's team" in French football.
